Accessible Library Programs: Designing Inclusive In-Person and Online Events

In this course, you’ll learn practical strategies for creating inclusive programs for all ages using Universal Design for Learning guidelines and accessible event planning strategies. We’ll cover how to design flexible, engaging experiences; create accessible marketing materials; and set up both in-person and virtual spaces with accessibility in mind.
Whether you have a large budget or none at all, you’ll leave with realistic, actionable ideas you can use right away. The course also includes tips for accessible recordings and handouts, plus an Accessible Program Checklist to support your work.
Lindsay O’Neill
Lindsay O’Neill is a consultant, speaker, and instructional designer that specializes in online pedagogy, AI literacy, and accessibility. She holds a Doctor of Education as well as a Master of Library and Information Science and has 15 years of experience in developing learner-centered experiences. Lindsay is also faculty in Learning Design and Technology at University of San Diego.
