Presented at SWFLN last week, Train the trainer is an interactive workshop that took attendees through the process of developing a technology-oriented workshop to their users.  For example: Downloading Ebooks, Using Zinio, Introducing Windows 10, etc. The full day in-person workshop was held in the SWFLN office.

Training our users is an essential service and it is often not something we are naturally comfortable with. Presenting to an audience instead of one-to-one instruction it brings in several additional skills. We focused on three main elements: planning a workshop (development & marketing), logistics of training and presenting.

As libraries continue to transform and technology continues to evolve overnight – training will continue to grow as an essential service in our libraries. This interactive workshop allowed attendees to work on a personal presentation – developing their own training for their users.
