Emily Weak

As the founder of the long-running Hiring Librarians project, Emily has surveyed more than 2000 workers on both sides of the hiring table, in the wide field of Library and Information Services. She has also worked with researchers and authors, curated crowd-sourced resources for interview preparation and resume/CV review, and even started a podcast. Over the course of her career, she is most proud of her work as an advisor to libraries with LSTA grants, in outreach and engagement at public libraries in Oakland, CA, and Mountain View, CA, and on the board of the California Library Association (2018-2021). She has written two book chapters and has been published in Library Leadership & Management, Public Libraries Magazine, and Reference & User Services Quarterly, among other titles.
