SUMMARY:NEFLIN: How Libraries Can Use AI to Support ADA Compliance on Websites
DESCRIPTION:AI is not a replacement for accessibility expertise—but it can be a valuable support tool. In this one-hour webinar\, library staff will explore practical\, responsible ways AI can assist with ADA and WCAG-related accessibility work. Drawing from real library accessibility projects\, the session will highlight how AI can help: \n \n\nReview content for accessibility issues\nImprove readability and plain language\nDraft accessible descriptions\, including alt text\nDevelop simple coding solutions and fixes for common accessibility issues\n\nParticipants will gain a clear understanding of where AI is helpful and where human review is essential\, and leave with actionable ideas they can apply immediately. \nDiana SilveiraDiana Silveira is a librarian and the president of Novare Library Services\, where she partners with libraries to develop\, implement\, and effectively use technology and to deliver continuing education through a variety of training formats. Previously\, she worked at the Tampa Bay (FL) Library Consortium and the Charlotte Mecklenburg (NC) Library. She holds an MLIS from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a BS in psychology from Catawba College. Her book\, Library Technology Planning for Today and Tomorrow\, is available through Amazon and Bloomsbury.
