Description: Join high school librarian Kelsey Bogan as she shares her journey of building and developing graphic novel, manga, and comic book collections from the ground up despite being completely new and quite unfamiliar with these formats. This session will help even the verriest novice to feel empowered to confidently build and organize these complex and high demand collections, by clarifying the terminology and characteristics that set each format apart, providing tips for how to approach cataloging these often series-heavy collections, and sharing organization strategies that will help keep these collections accessible and easy to engage with, for both the library users and the library staff. Participants will leave this session with a clearer understanding of how to approach building graphic novel, manga, or comic book collections as well as plenty of tools and tips for how to begin or continue this process with confidence and ease.
